About Sean Oakes
Sean Oakes – Musician | Guitarist | Vocalist
Sean Oakes is a seasoned musician with over 30 years of experience performing live and recording across a wide range of genres. With a strong musical foundation, Sean holds an Honours Degree in Classical Guitar from Brock University, along with a diploma in Recording Engineering from the Recording Arts Program of Canada.
Throughout his career, Sean has written and recorded original music with a variety of indie artists, including Granny’s Candy Jar, Headfirst, and his latest project, Sons of Redemption. His versatility and professionalism have also made him a sought-after collaborator in the Niagara music scene, performing with numerous Top 40 bands such as Figure 4, Hemitone, and alongside members of Screaming Black Cadillacs, as well as Slider, Jonesy, Gator Bait, Static Black, Dick Tracy, and Betty Ford.
Sean is currently active in multiple projects, showcasing his range and passion for live performance. He fronts The Black Sheep, co-sings and plays guitar in the power trio The UnderCovers, performs with the All-Canadian tribute act Canadian Bacon, and is part of an acoustic project, The Black Sheep Duo.
Known for his dynamic stage presence and musical adaptability, Sean enjoys performing a diverse mix of styles, including rock, blues, country, and soul/funk—bringing energy and authenticity to every performance.
